potatoe soup with spicy bratwrust

dice up the potatoes into big bit size pieces then add them to your a boiling pot of water. season the water with a dash of worsterhire and Montreal steak seasoning to give flavor to your potatoes. after those are cooked and drained, add in a little bit of butter, couple splashes of milk and a spoonful of sour cream. it will look like runny mash potatoes. then add in a couple handfuls of cheese and the bratwurst you've cooked. then serve

cooking the bratwurst- is first take it outta the casing and cook it like regular sausage.

I served it with homemade bread super yummy!

ok so if you don't have shredded chicken for the cheesy chicken dip/burritos. Then use the old el paso rice and chicken package and mix in. if you don't have Velveeta dip then use a can of cheese dip from a can. You can pretty much use any type of cheese from a can or Velveeta block.

Cheesy Chicken dip or burritos

1 can of cream of cheese
1 small block of Velveeta Mexican cheese
little milk
little sour cream
shredded chicken
can of green chili's

heat all together and serve or make burritos to make it a enchilada with enchilada sauce over it.

strawberry stuffed cream creese cupcakes

I made up a strawberry mix to make cupcakes. When I put the cake mix in the cupcake tins I added a little cube of softened cream cheese in the middle and smashed it down so it would cook over it. I didn't add preserves to it but i should have added a little spoonful of strawberry jam to it would have been so much better!
let it cook and then make homemade cream cheese frosting. a box of cream cheese, little milk, little vanilla and 4 cups of powdered sugar.
then frost the cup cakes and add a fresh strawberry

yummy stuffed bell peppers

So after making that unsaucy spaghetti. I got to thinking that it would go nicely as a stuffed bell pepper but just to add rice to the mixture to soak up the juices. and boy was I right it was so good I don't think I'll ever make stuffed bell peppers like I use to (stuff it just like a meatloaf). I followed the cooking just the same as the other but when the meat mixture is cooking off for that 30-45 mins. I added a little less than a cup of rice (if you don't want it to ricey then add about 1/2 cup instead) and then I chopped up some bell peppers to mix in with it to enhance the flavor.
When that is cooking prepare the bell peppers and then place them on a pan and put in the oven for about 20 mins at 350 degree. so when the meat/rice mixture is done cooking stuff the bell peppers and top with cheese. put it back in the oven until the cheese is crispy and cooked on top.

I also put some potatoes in the oven while the bell peppers where cooking to have baked potatoes.

Danae's unsaucy spagetti

So I watched a cooking show on how to do this but couldn't remember exactly how he made it so I made it my own!!

onions and garlic diced up with a splash of evoo in a pot to cook. you're bringing out the flavors and just softening it not actually browning it.
Then cook the hamburger with the onions and garlic. season it with whatever you have that sounds or smells good to you. but for sure salt pepper and Worcester (sp) sauce.
after that cooks down add in a can of beef broth and tomato sauce. taste to see what the flavor is and add more seasoning if it needs it.
let it cook down for about 30-45 mins on low heat let all the flavors combine and enhance each other.
cook your noodles in a different pot, then add it to the mixture and serve with cheese.

rusten says its a good spaghetti version of what a school cafeteria would make. the boys add it all up even Porter. (but you have to make sure it has good flavor when your cooking it or it will be blah)

Best cookies ever!!

Seriously, they are the best!! Wanna know the best part?? It can be what ever kind of cookie you feel like making that night and they will absolutely be the best you've ever had!! Why, you might ask. Well because I figured out an awesome way to cook them. Instead of cooking the cookies at 350 or 375, cook them at 425 and take out the cookies when the top and bottom are turning brown (all over brown). The cookies only cook for maybe 10 mins. but keep a close eye on them because depending on how big or small you cookies are will affect the cooking time. When you take the cookies out they will kinda look raw in the middle (that the best) so let them sit on top of the stove still on the cookie sheet for a couple more mins until you see that they have fallen and doesn't have that raw look to them any longer. When eating the cookie you will find that they not only super soft in the middle but crunchy on the outside. Just like a bakery has them...maybe that's how they make theirs?! I've even taken the test and left the cookies out all night...next day still soft in the middle. Is there anything better than soft but crunchy cookies?!!

danae's recipe for lasagna

So I just took some recipes from different lasagna ones and made my own. I've got it in the fridge waiting to get cooked up tonight. Hopefully I've done something good for dinner, but I will let you know. I found a recipe for a slow cooker 3 cheese lasagna and wanted to make that in the crock pot. But I went to get my crock pot and found that it was cracked from the bottom to the top. A few tears where almost shed over this...i love cooking from a crock pot!! but oh well I might have come up with a good recipe that I wouldn't have done if it wasn't cracked. So.... here's what I did.

oven ready lasagna noodles
bag of frozen mixed veggies
shredded cheese

bowl #1
can of progresso cheese chicken enchilada soup
2 cans of cream of chicken
cup of water
a little bit of shredded chicken (already has chicken from soups)

bowl #2
2- 8ozcream cheese-onion and chive kind
2 eggs
a handful of Parmesan cheese

OK so I sprayed the cake pan, put a little of bowl 1 on the bottom, put noodles on bottom. Top noodles with bowl 2 spread thinly, handful of veggies, chicken and top with bowl 1. Then repeat with noodles until no more (about 3 layers). With the last noodles on top, spread with bowl 2, rest of shredded chicken, then top with bowl 1 and finally top with shredded cheese and pat down making sure all noodles are flat and covered!!

Side note....

I try not to salt any of my food I cook, so when I don't say anything about salt and peppering food. It's because I don't but go ahead and season away it will taste better that way!! Trust me I salt what is on my plate. It's easier to add salt than to take it away!!

Chili Cheese Hot dogs

Cook your hot dogs either boiled or on a grill. warm up your favorite chili (I use Hormel). Warm up your buns and then put your hot dog in it and top with the chili, sprinkle with cheese and sour cream.

Slow Cooker lasagna

haven't tried this one will add recipe later

Sheperd's Pie

In a cake pan spray with cooking oil, bottom layer will be mashed potatoes, beef mixture and top with cheese bake at 350 until bubbly and cheese is crispy. (You can also put the mash potatoes on top of the beef mixture if desired)

Beef mixture- cook hamburger until done ( I never drain hamburger grease unless its ridiculous amount). Add a can of  tomato sauce, a little hot sauce (if you want spicy flavor). Add a can of corn or green bean and mix.

Chicken Haystacks

Cook rice as directed (make as much as you need for your family). Cook chicken breasts so it can be shredded or use canned chicken. Then add cream of chicken and a little cream cheese to your cooked shredded chicken (if it's to thick add a little milk). Plate up your rice put chicken mixter over your rice and top with cheese and the fried onion string things (can't remember their name). If you want to add a little flavor add green chile to your chicken mixture.

Corn Beef Hash

Slice potatoes into bit size pieces,  cook in pan with butter until tender. Add a can of corn beef and a couple of eggs, cook until the corn beef is cooked (it will turn a little darker)  and eggs are fully cooked, while stirring so your potatoes and corn beef doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. Serve with a tortilla and sour cream!

Taco's

Easy Enchilada's

Tried making easy enchilada's from a recipe that was on an enchilada sauce can. It was not very good and to salty. Was told by my 6 yr old that it tasted like chief  boyardi...so yeah not a very good compliment! In case you like tomato-ie enchiladas then this is the dinner for you. Cook up your hamburger (how ever much you need for your family) once cooked add a handful of cheese and about 3/4 cup of enchilada sauce (I used old El paso). Spray your cooking pan, preheat oven to 375. Warm up your flour tortillas and add your mixture in and roll up and put in your pan. If you need to layer your rolled up burritos then add some cheese and enchilada sauce on top and continue with your rolling of tortillas and beef mixture once done with as many burritos as you need or can make. Then pour on the rest of your sauce and a little cheese and bake until bubbly. If you want serve with sour cream!
Getting tired of regular spaghetti? Try adding 4 oz of cream cheese to your hamburger and spaghetti sauce and mix it up until all the cream cheese is mixed in. Then add your noodles to your mixture sprinkle with some Parmesan cheese and serve! No need for shredded cheddar cheese...its already cheesy and creamy!
